Set Conditional Rules for Revenue Reallocation

··

Last updated on Aug 28, 2026

Define conditional if-then rules in Advanced Revenue to automatically apply different reallocation formulas based on transaction attributes like amount, product family, item type, contract term, and custom fields. This removes the need for manual adjustments on each transaction type.

Instead of applying one static formula to every transaction, you can define rules that evaluate a transaction's attributes and automatically apply the matching reallocation formula. Each rule is logged, so the applied formula is identifiable for audit and reporting purposes.

Before you begin

Confirm the following before creating a conditional rule:

  • You have access to Advanced Revenue and permission to edit revenue reallocation settings.
  • You know which transaction attribute the rule should evaluate, for example transaction amount, transaction type, product family, item type, contract term length, or a custom field.
  • You have the reallocation formula ready to apply when the condition is met.

Set a conditional rule

Conditional rules let you apply different reallocation formulas automatically, based on a transaction's attributes, instead of configuring one static formula for every transaction.

To create a conditional reallocation rule

  1. In Advanced Revenue, navigate to revenue reallocation settings.
  2. Create a new conditional rule.
  3. Select the transaction attribute to evaluate (for example, transaction amount or product family).
  4. Define the condition. For example, if amount is greater than $100,000, then apply the weighted formula (amount × quantity); otherwise, apply the standard formula (amount).
  5. Select the reallocation formula to apply when the condition is met.
  6. Save the rule.

What to expect next

Once saved, the rule applies automatically to any matching transactions going forward. You do not need to apply it manually to individual transactions. Each time a rule is applied, it's logged so you can identify which formula was used for a given transaction during audit or reporting.

Troubleshooting

A transaction didn't get the formula I expected

Check whether multiple conditional rules could match the same transaction, and confirm the transaction's attribute values (amount, type, product family, item type, term length, or custom field) match the condition exactly as defined in the rule.
