Reopen a Canceled Invoice

··

Last updated on Aug 27, 2026

Restore the balance due on a Subscription without reactivating the Subscription itself, by reopening one of its canceled Invoices.

Before you begin

A few conditions and effects are worth knowing before you reopen a canceled Invoice:

  • Reopen Invoice is only available for Invoices in Canceled status. It does not appear for Draft, Open, Paid, or Voided invoices.
  • Reopen Invoice is not available for a consolidated Invoice's child (segment) invoice.
  • This action requires the Customer Support access level or higher.
  • Reopening a canceled Invoice does not reactivate the Subscription. If you also need the Subscription active again, reactivate it separately.

Reopen a canceled invoice

Reopening moves the Invoice back to Open status and recalculates the Subscription's balance due to include it.

To reopen a canceled invoice

  1. Navigate to the canceled Invoice you want to reopen.
  2. From the Invoice's More Options dropdown, select Reopen Invoice.
  3. Confirm the action when prompted.

What to expect next

After reopening a canceled Invoice:

  • The Invoice status changes from Canceled to Open.
  • The Subscription's balance due is recalculated to include the reopened Invoice amount.
  • The action is recorded in the Invoice's history.

Troubleshooting

If you run into trouble reopening a canceled Invoice, check the following.

Reopen invoice is not visible

Reopen Invoice only appears for Invoices in Canceled status, and never for a consolidated Invoice's child (segment) invoice. Confirm the Invoice's status, and confirm your account has the Customer Support access level or higher.

To void an Invoice instead of reopening one, see Void an Invoice.

For how a Subscription's Invoices get canceled in the first place, see Cancel a Subscription.

For tools to manage other open Invoices, see Manage Open Invoices.
