OptionDescription
OrganizationSpecify the name of company or organization of the customer. (Required) instead of Primary Contact First Name and Last Name if Maxio Platform is enabled for your Site.
Reference IDSpecify a unique reference ID for the customer. Reference IDs aren't case sensitive, and must be unique across all Customers on your site. Two Customers can't share the same reference ID.
Business TypeThe customer's business classification: B2B (Business-to-Business), B2G (Business-to-Government), or B2C (Business-to-Consumer).
Primary Contact First NameSpecify the first name of the customer. This is the first name noted on the subscription. (Optional) if Maxio Platform is enabled for your Site.
Primary Contact Last NameSpecify the last name of the customer. (Optional) if Maxio Platform is enabled for your Site.
Primary Contact EmailSpecify the email address for your customer.
Primary Contact PhoneProvide a phone number for a customer.
CC EmailsAdd additional email addresses for your customer. Any CC emails included here receive a copy of all associated communications for the subscription, including statements, receipts, cancellation confirmations, and dunning notices. Add as many CC email addresses as needed.
CC'd addresses don't receive Billing Portal-related emails, including invitations, even once Billing Portal access is enabled. See Understand Billing Portal Login Flow for more information.
Salesforce IDThe Salesforce record ID associated with this customer.
Only shown if your site has a Salesforce integration enabled.
Default Auto-Renewal ProfileSet the default renewal behavior for this customer's subscriptions, including whether they auto-renew and when renewal invoices are generated (for example, 1 week or 1 month in advance, or upon expiration).
Only shown if auto-renewals are enabled for your site.
Shipping Address 1/2/3Specify the street address(es) for the customer's shipping location.
Shipping CountrySpecify the shipping country for the customer.
Shipping StateSpecify the shipping state for the customer.
Shipping CitySpecify the shipping city for the customer.
Shipping Zip CodeSpecify the shipping postal or zip code for the customer.
Tax IDSelect an identifier type from the Tax ID dropdown, then enter its value. For an EU VAT or national tax identifier, also select the customer's Country; you can validate these against the country's registry, and once validated, Maxio shows the validation status and the date it was last validated. The dropdown also lists Global Identifiers (GLN, DUNS, LEI) and, under Other Identifiers, Company-Reg No. for a business registration number such as a French SIREN or SIRET — neither group requires a Country or supports validation. See Set Up Managed Sales Tax for more information about taxes.
Tax ExemptSetting the customer as tax exempt results in no taxes being assessed on any of their subscriptions. See Set Up Tax Exempt Customers for more information.
eInvoicing Network/FormatSelect the eInvoicing network and document format used for this customer's electronic invoices.
Only shown if eInvoicing is enabled for your site.
Branding ThemeSelect a Branding Theme to control how this customer's invoices and other documents are branded.
Only shown if Branding Themes are enabled for your site.
Tax Exempt ReasonSelect the reason this customer is tax exempt.
Only shown if your site manages its own Avalara account.
LanguageSelect the customer's language, which sets the default language and localization used on invoices and communications.
Only shown if your site uses Invoice-Centric Billing.
Verified for ACH/eCheck PaymentsSelect whether this customer must verify their bank account before making ACH/eCheck payments. If required, they enter their bank details via the Understand Self-Service Pages. ACH guidelines put the responsibility on you, the merchant, to know your customer well enough to trust them to enter valid bank account info. Enable ACH payments only for customers you trust. See Verify a customer for eCheck (ACH/EFT) for more information.
Only shown if ACH/eCheck verification is required for your site's gateway.
SurchargingTurn Surcharging on or off for this customer. When enabled, applicable surcharges may be applied to their payments.
Only shown if Surcharging is enabled for your site.
